Directions

From Norwich (East Norfolk and Yarmouth)

Take A47 towards Swaffham. Turn left at Necton (after Fransham, between Garden Centre and old garage). Follow the road (straight and then around to the left) into Necton.

Turn right onto the North Pickenham Road (if you get to the shop on your left you’ve gone too far).Cross a cross roads , go past a pig farm on the left, a turning to North Pickenham on the Road, and turn left into the rough track signed to Saint Mary’s.

From Swaffham (Kings Lynn, Downham Market, Burnham Market)

Take the Brandon road (A1065) out of Swaffham, forking left just before the end of Swaffham at the signpost to South Pickenham (A1077). Follow the road through South Pickenham and around to the left over a small bridge. Then take the first left at a cross roads (signed North Pickenham). Follow that road for apx 1 ½ miles and turn right into the rough track signed to Saint Mary’s. (Immediately past the farm entrance)

From London (passing Stansted airport, Newmarket, Brandon)

Take M11 out of London (passing Stansted Airport at Junction 8a) then take A11, the A14 (Newmarket bypass) and back onto A11 (signed Thetford and Norwich).

At the Mildenhall roundabout take the second exit A1065 to Brandon (NOT the third exit which is the A11 to Thetford and Norwich).

Go through Brandon (turning left down the high street), over the level crossing continuing on towards Swaffham.

Just after going through Hilborough (the last village before Swaffham), passing The Swan on the right, the road swings to the left. Turn right there.

Cross the first crossroads, turn right at the second (by a cream coloured Lodge), turn right at the next intersection towards Ashill and Watton, go over a tiny bridge and take the first left at a cross roads (signed North Pickenham).

From Thetford (Diss, Bury St. Edmunds, Stowmarket, Ipswich)

Take A134 from Thetford towards Kings Lynn. At the Mundford roundabout take the A1065 towards Swaffham, then follow the directions above from: “Just after going through Hilborough….”

IMPORTANT: If you are using SatNav

The post code PE37 8DY will bring you to the neighbouring farm whos entrance lies beside the track to Saint Marys Church. The church has a finger sign post, so there is no mistaking which track to take.
